I am a graduate student at the University of Georgia at Athens. I am pursuing a Masters degree in Education with a major in instructional design and development.
I finished my B.S. degree at the University of Connecticut over 25 years ago. I am now 50, and returning to school after a bit of a hiatus from academic work. I am excited about entering the IDD program here, having initially met with my current advisor Lloyd Rieber over a year ago, now. I was impressed with Lloyd and the program as he outlined it to me. I knew that UGA and this program was where I wanted to be from that initial meeting with Dr. Rieber.
My career has involved high technology from the early 1980's, working in a variety of roles but mainly in software and applications development. I code in languages ranging from C to C# to Java to Javascript and many more. I am mainly involved with work on the web platform as are most software engineers and developers these days.
My long range goals are to complete my M.E.D. at UGA, and work as an instructional designer or teacher, most likely in technology. I cannot think of a better way to finish out the sunset of my professional career - "giving back."
I live in Alpharetta with my wife Katherine and three sons: Christopher 15, Reed 7, and Cooper 4, along with our trusted Peekapoo Inky (now 12). What do I do in my precious free time? - you guess...
